The Golden Shoestring is a community-oriented, high-end Ladies consignment boutique focused on sustainability and unique style.

We accept gently used ladies clothes, shoes, handbags, jewelry, and accessories that are not more than 2 years old. We specialize in unique boutique brands and accept sizes 4-18.

We ask that you bring items in on hangers, clean and pressed, and check beforehand for any odors, stains, holes, or pilling. Footwear must be in near perfect condition.

Competitive Consignment Split

If you choose to consign with us, you make 48% commission on each item sold, with no yearly fees and no consignor fees.

Luxury labels such as Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and Hermes are evaluated on a case-by-case basis, always in the consignor’s favor.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kinds of items do you accept on consignment?

We accept new or gently worn designer women’s clothing, handbags, shoes, jewelry, and accessories.

*We do NOT take suits, menswear, children’s clothing, wedding dresses, undergarments, lingerie, or sleepwear.

When do we accept items on consignment?

The Golden Shoestring accepts items via walk-in appointments on Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout the year. Appointments on different weekdays may by scheduled by calling the store.

What are your consignment rates?

48% of the item sold. Split is lowered to 40% if the consignor wants items returned at the end of the period that have not sold. 

Designer item commission splits are determined individually and with the consignor’s prior consent.

How do I get paid?

Consignors are free to claim their payouts whenever they wish through a check, store credit, or our new direct deposit feature. Checks are sent out each week to consignors with $150 or more in their account. In December, checks are mailed if the consignor has $20 or more in their account to close out our books.

How do we determine pricing?

We follow brand-specific pricing guidelines and/or individually research higher end items. Pricing considerations include if items are new with tags or especially trending styles or labels.

How do we determine authenticity of designer bags?

We use Entrupy, a premier authentication service to authenticate our designer bags.

How long are my items on consignment?

Items are on the floor for 2-3 months. Unsold items may be picked up by the consignor (for a lower commission split) or donated to local charities.

What is the return policy?

All items are final sale. We do not accept returns.
